Türkiye’nin coğrafi bölgelerinden Ege Bölgesi’nde yer alan şirince, günümüzde İzmir ili Selçuk ilçesine bağlı bir yamaç köyüdür. Yerleşme Küçük Menderes’e açılan Şirince Vadisi’nin az çok genişlediği bir kesimde eğimli yamaçlar üzerinde kurulmuştur. Yerleşmenin ortasından kışın Küçük Menderes’e ulaşan Şirince Deresi geçer. Şirince yazları sıcak ve kurak, kışları ılık ve yağışlı geçen Akdeniz iklimi etkisindedir. Doğal bitki örtüsünün ana çizgileri iklim koşullarına bağlı bulunur, yerleşmenin ekonomik gücü tarıma dayalıdır. Son yıllarda tarımın yanında turizm de Şirince için az da olsa bir geçim kaynağı oluşturmaktadır. En önemli tarım ürünleri şeftali, üzüm, incir ve zeytindir.
